Abstract: Waldorf pedagogy conceives teaching as an art and the teacher as a creator. This principle is reflected—at least in theory—in the curricular design of Waldorf Class Teacher education. The aim of this study is to explore the extent and manner in which the curricula of international Waldorf Class Teacher training programs support the development of creative teaching. The study investigates how creativity and teacher creativity are embedded in the curricula of various Waldorf Class Teacher education programs. The qualitative comparative curriculum analysis is based on the program documents of seven different institutions, including state-accredited programs in Germany as well as Swedish, Taiwanese, and Hungarian examples. The central research question concerns the ways and degrees to which these programs foster the emergence of creative teacher identities. The analysis reveals that creativity appears not only through artistic courses but is integrated throughout the structure of teacher education—ranging from personal development to methodological autonomy. According to the findings, Waldorf Class Teacher education effectively supports teacher creativity when the concept of the teacher as a creative practitioner is also explicitly present at the curricular level. While the study is not representative, it identifies relevant tendencies and curricular patterns within European Waldorf Class Teacher education programs.
