Abstract: One of the exciting tools of our time is artificial intelligence (AI), which is increasingly used by both children and adults. The development of artificial intelligence has resulted in innovations for humanity that have an impact on many aspects of life, including education. The integration of AI into education can affect the way teachers teach and students learn (Kamalov et al 2023). The aim of our research is to examine the differences between primary and secondary school students in the extent to which students know and use artificial intelligence, how typical it is for teachers to include it as a supporting tool in knowledge transfer, and for students to include it in homework or in the learning process at home. For our study, we collected data from elementary school (n=183) and secondary school (n=127) students using a self-designed questionnaire. The results show that there are many similarities between the two school levels, e.g. would find it useful to incorporate AI into lessons (χ2=4.32 p=0.37), and they believe that lessons would be more interesting if AI were incorporated (χ2=7.11 p=0.13). However, we found a difference in whether they would be willing to use artificial intelligence in lessons (χ2=9.22 p=0.05). In addition, there is a significant difference between primary and secondary school students in (χ2=23.78 p<0.01) which platform students turn to with their questions, whether during homework or in case of personal problems.
