Abstract: The paper explores three contemporary audiovisual works—Jibaro and The Witness from the Love, Death & Robots series, and the adaptation of The Drowned Giant—through Gilles Deleuze’s philosophy. Instead of psychoanalytic or identity-based interpretations, the focus is on affect, time and desiring-machines as productive forces. Jibaro illustrates the destructive-creative flows of desire; The Witness demonstrates the ritournelle and the experience of looped time; and The Drowned Giant resonates with the Ymir myth and Deleuze’s crystal-image, where past and present mirror each other. The aim is to show how these films operate as affective laboratories that create new forms of bodies, desires and temporal relations through the medium-specific language of cinema.
