In our fast-paced world, employees are facing new challenges as they adapt to current labor market demands. Today, possessing skills that ensure successful navigation of a competitive labor market is an essential part of a successful career. The aim of this study is to theoretically examine the set and characteristics of skills, abilities, and competencies that employers fundamentally expect from their employees. The study summarizes the characteristics of these soft skills. It also presents the elements of the 4C model and outlines the changing trends in the labor market.
