Abstract: In Hungary, we have witnessed significant social and economic changes in recent decades. These include population decline, emigration, rising mortality rates, and the socialization of various economic decisions. Society and the economy are inextricably linked: when one changes, the other reacts. In recent decades, both areas have undergone rapid transformation in Hungary. Our study aims to provide a brief summary of Hungary's economic and social life over the past five years. It raises questions such as what population policy decisions are linked to individual economic developments, and what specific tasks need to be addressed by individual actors in economic life, individual members of society, and institutions. If society is able to respond flexibly—through education, social policy, and community building—then economic changes can benefit everyone.
