Abstract: The ability of critical thinking is crucial in modern society, where the amount of information and its accessibility are constantly increasing. This study examines the importance and application of critical thinking in higher education. Higher education institutions are not only responsible for imparting professional knowledge but also for developing students' critical and analytical skills. This enables them to reliably evaluate information, make decisions, and find creative solutions. The goal of education is not only to transfer knowledge and develop skills but also to support the comprehensive development of students. Moreover, education should play a role in reducing inequalities, meeting needs, and maximizing students' potential. Higher education institutions must also contribute to the advancement of new knowledge and cultural development. Additionally, education should prepare students to succeed in their personal, professional, and civic lives. This study presents pedagogical methods and tools that effectively support the development of these skills and provides a detailed analysis of their application in higher education practice.
