Abstract:
MUSICAL EDUCATION IN WALDORF PEDAGOGY - MUSIC AND THE
STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT
In the Waldorf Education, based on Rudolf Steiner’s idea, art education is an essential activity for improving personality. Two Hungarian authors Janurik & Pethő (2009) show the advantage of the Waldorf-school music teaching in Flow-experience and positive attitude towards classical music. This article draws attention to the attitude and elements of the Waldorf music education which can cause the advantage of this kind of music teaching method. Steiner’s educational system is based on the three intervals of musical development called fifth, third and octave. Every day rhythmical activity, which includes also singing, and instrument learning (flute) can make a base for this musical experience. The thematic songs for epoch and the eurythmy movement art as well give a personal empathy of music.
