Abstract: Art is a powerful tool for education. It is challenging to map the intellectual abilities of nonverbal people with severe and multiple disabilities. Although previous educational concepts associated severe disabilities with low intellectual abilities, constructivist approaches to education provide a new perspective on education in general, especially in the case of atypical development. In this study, two ongoing research methods will be discussed. The first is a new setup within a well-established research of the past 10 years based on video analysis of listeners of classical music. The second is a new area, a case study of a new pilot project about receptive visual experiencis through the analysis of the photos taken in the Fine Art Museum, Budapest taken by a visitor with Down Syndrome.
