Abstract: Intuitive pedagogy is the name of a relatively new pedagogical movement that started in Sweden about 40 years ago at the initiative of Pär Ahlbom, a Waldorf teacher of music and composition. The underlying principle on which the whole movement is based is the emphasis on intuition in teaching. In their understanding, intuition means something concrete related to attention and presence. This dedicated attention and presence is practiced in intuitive teacher education through movement games, musical improvisation, visual art. In the following, ideas and assumptions about intuition are briefly presented, followed by some exciting approaches to the phenomenon. The concept will be analysed mainly from the perspective of psychology and education. The aim of the paper is to provide an insight into recent interpretations of intuition through each of these approaches and introducing intuitive pedagogy as part of the Waldorf educational palette.
