Abstract: In teacher training, during preparation for the teaching career, in addition to theoretical and practical preparation, the most important task is the development of the students' pedagogical competences and their personality. Today, entering the world of school, young career starters have to face a lot of challenges. An important role in this is their communication, their ability to empathize, how well they are able to cooperate with other children, parents, colleagues, how flexible they are, or how effectively they can solve problems. The study presents a program implemented at the Apáczai Csere János Faculty of Széchenyi István University, which supports the preparation of student teachers for their future profession with the help of fairy tales.
