Abstract: Due to the rapid spread of the pandemic, severe restrictions were imposed around the world, which forced many companies to closed, which meant that people have lost their jobs. As a result, the em-ployment has declined and the number of unemployed people has begun to rise steadily. A large num-ber of people tend to work in an area they would not have undertaken before in order to make a living. Many jobseekers see working abroad as another opportunity, trusting that it will be easier to find work because of milder restrictions. A total of 862 respondents from Slovakia and Hungary participated in the research. Fisher's exact test was performed to analyze the formulated hypothesis. In the case of Slovak respondents, there is a significant relationship between job losses due to the COVID-19 epi-demic and the intention to work abroad.
