Abstract: The study deals with Reformed congregational youth camps. The question is whether the need for these programs is catechetical, i.e., whether they contribute to discipleship, taking into account the age specifics of adolescents. In a longitudinal study, we followed the youth camp of the Pécs-Belváros Reformed Church for six years. We conducted a community study, during which we filled out questionnaires with the young people, took part in several conversations and analyzes, and in two summers we looked at the state and changes of the community of the same camp with a sociometric study. At the end of the study, taking into account the results of the surveys and the specifics of the age group, we make suggestions on how to organize youth camps, if the goal is to make a disciple.
