Abstract: The present study seeks to reconcile conceptual and practical knowledge with the development of labor-market-related skills and competencies in the context of the expectations and the effectivity of higher education. The research of our current topic - knowledge and competence expectations related to Hungarian legal higher education - takes place in two phases. In the first phase - in this present study - the field of Hungarian higher law education will be examined in terms of feasibility, measurability, efficiency, taking into account the EU expectations. In the second phase - in the next study - we mainly carry out either quantitative, analysation or qualitative, empirical research: in addition to the evaluation of competency studies, the system-level study of higher education, case-studies, expert focus group discussion and the complex evaluation of all results, then a comprehensive development advise/proposal will be also part of our work.
