Abstract: The work is very important factor in people's lives. Atypical forms of employment began to spread significantly in some countries in the 1990s and 2000s. In this study we focused to the national and international directions in the atypical forms of employment, and freelancers. The most common forms are part-time employment, teleworking, job-sharing, labour hire, student work and freelancer. The aim of the study is to provide a comprehensive picture of the knowledge of today's Slovak citizens about atypical forms of employment. Among the observation methods, the questionnaire survey was chosen. Based on the results, we can say, that the presence of atypical forms of employment is still low in Slovakia. We can say that future workers are open to new forms of employment. In order to maintain this openness, we believe that each atypical form of employment should be promoted in several ways.
