Abstract: The modern pedagogical diagnostics pays the great attention to the assessment. The school assessmet signifies an important motivating element. It allows the pupils and the teachers to assess the level of their achieved knowledge and skills. It also helps to detect the deficiencies, thereby it influencies the pupils´ self-regulation. The quality of the educational process and its overall climate depend on the assessment. The properly implemented assessment supports the processes of the pupils´ learning and participates in the development of their personality. The important part of the assessment is the pupils´ self-assessment.
