Abstract: The development of theory and practice integration within theological education has become a contextual challenge for the Lutheran church. As new patterns of educational delivery has been introduced, issues of methodological questions has come to the forefront concerning the integration of practice experience into classroom education. The shifting process from university life into ministry situations is accompanied by a one-year internship program, however a number of questions remain concerning the relationship of theology and practice for the whole educational process. The role of practical theology in both classroom and field education plays an influential role. A survey among 57 ordained pastors concerning their view and evaluation of Lutheran theological education and preparation for ministry supports the study.
