Abstract: At the beginning of the dissertation, the author emphasizes the importance of comparative approach and analysis in the historical and theoretical research of literary phenomena and works, and then summarizes the results of the research of Slovak-Hungarian literary relations. As a conceptual viewpoint, comparatism - like the practice of literary translation - protects individual national cultures against closure and isolation. In addition to this, more attention should be paid to the problem of reception, as the often monogenetic interpretations of the past and only the national angle are often not based on literary aspects. This presupposes the overcoming of regional differences in terminology and interpretation. The final part of the dissertation summarizes the aspects of the renewal of literary teaching by describing the "problem-centered literature teaching program" and further experimental creative methods (from chronology to hermeneutics).
