Abstract: Štefan Dováľ (born in 1950) is one of the most prominent authors of the older wave of prose texts by the Lowerland Slovaks living and creating in Romania. After his death, a collection titled Moments of Happiness and Returns (2021) was published, which presents a selection of his shorter prose works and provides suitable material for language and stylistic analysis. In this study, we attempt to delve not only into the richness of dialectal elements interwoven with the speech expressions of the Bihor mountain dwellers or the sociolect-influenced expressions of the Nadlac intellectuals, but also into the specifics of the language and style of the author himself.
