Abstract: The subject of the following study is a lingvodidactic analysis of a secondary school biology textbook in Slovakia. The first part of the article summarizes the role of textbooks in the educational process, the main questions related to its research, and then we provide a textological analysis of a selected textbook text. In the second part of the study, the same text is also examined from the point of view of the recipient-user. In our analysis, we also apply a comparative aspect.
