Abstract: The present study is devoted to the experiment we conducted in February 2025, the goal of which was to explore how AI evaluates and understands the humor of anti-proverbs (i.e., deliberate proverb innovations), as well as how it can create its own humorous content. Our discussion is organized in two parts. In the first, introductory part of the study we first address the background of anti-proverb research and terminology. Afterwards, we explore the relation of AI, humor and creativity, as well as AI and proverbs. The second, and main part of the article addresses the experiment itself. We discuss how our experiment was set up and conducted. We outline the main goals of our experiment and our hypotheses. Furthermore, we describe the selection of anti-proverbs in the questionnaire for the experiment. Last but not least, we introduce how our communication with AI was set up. The second part of the study is followed by Conclusion and Implications for further research. At the end of the study Appendix is given, which is followed by a list of References.
