Abstract: There is a lot of research on cleft lip and palate in Hungary from the medical side, but the contextual aspects of the co-syndrome are still mostly unexplored. The congenital problem of the affected persons may affect several areas (speech, hearing, eating, cognitive functions) indirectly, involving many years of rehabilitation. These challenges can have a major impact on the individual's social well-being, which has received little attention in the scientific community. The practical relevance of the subject is unquestionable. In their study, the authors examine the international literature on the subject through a systematic literature review. Their research sought to identify the factors that influence the social inclusion of people with cleft lip and palate. The results highlight the need for further research on this topic, which is supported by the low number of results that are closely related to the research question and the lack of a complex approach to the topic.
