Abstract: In our study, we investigated the performance of various photogrammetry-based mobile applications in scanning transparent objects. (We tested the following popular 3D scanner apps by name: Luma AI, Polycam, KIRI Engine, 3D Scanner App) To broaden the comparison, we also utilized the LiDAR scanner available on Apple Pro devices, examining whether applications that leverage this technology outperform standard 3D scanning apps. The resulting 3D models were evaluated and compared in terms of their usability and overall quality. Based on the user experience and the results obtained, we also examined the usability of the applications in education.
