Abstract: Turbulent changes in the 21st century, which must be faced, bring the need to develop new abilities that can be used in practice with the goal of skills to make adequate decisions based on facts. The expansive development of science and technology over the past decades has significantly influenced a improved many areas of human life. Technology has become an integral part our daily life. Technological development has made available a lot of information, unfortunately also from various untrustworthy sources, so the need for adequate selection of information, reasonable analysis and formation of opinion has never been more urgent. The mentioned activities are closely connected with the ability of critical thinking, basically there has never been a greater need for critically independent thinking individuals than today. The paper focuses on the presentation of the importance of the ability to think critically in economic contexts in the context of practice, as inappropriate decisions based on incorrect information can lead to destructive realities in companies, institutions and also within the entire economic spectrum.
