Abstract: Economic development, while bringing various social benefits, also presents new challenges for leaders in integrating economic benefits with social responsibility and environmental protection. In the 21st century, sustainability has become a central theme in business and leadership. This study provides a theoretical review of sustainable leadership principles, emphasizing their organizational significance. The existing literature is systematically reviewed to cover the origins and conceptual definitions of sustainable leadership, the 6C model, the three-level perspective of sustainable leadership, its characteristics, as well as its antecedents and consequences. The study highlights that sustainable leadership is not only an ethical obligation but also a business advantage, as organizations focusing on sustainability are better positioned to perform well and respond to social and environmental challenges in the long term.
