Abstract: EXPERIENCE OF A COMPLEX PROFESSIONAL LANGUAGE EXAM IN
HIGHER EDUCATION
In 2022, the Hungarian government abolished the B2 level language exam requirement
as a precondition for graduation. Since 2022 Hungarian universities have had the right
to prescribe the professional language requisites for their students, and the universities
must provide the relevant professional language training. Our faculty has introduced a
language proficiency test for all majors to measure students' language proficiency. The
staff of the Language Centre developed the examination system, the type of tasks and the
requirements. The development of the examination, the experience and results of our
work and the first examination period of the specialised language examination are reported
in the following paper. We used SPSS for Windows statistical software 23.0 to analyse
the data and attempted to measure significant statistical correlations
