Abstract:
The most recent findings of neuroscientific research suggest that learning is more efficient
when there is a connection between the body, emotions and the mind. The paper investigates
the role of physical movement in the English as a foreign language classroom
in the higher level of primary school in Slovakia in schools with Hungarian language of
instruction. The main aim is to find out EFL teachers’ opinions on the incorporation of
movement in EFL classes, especially when it comes to improving speaking skills. The
main focus is on the application of drama techniques and the Total Physical Response
method. The paper presents the findings of interviews conducted with EFL teachers and
highlights the most significant views and practices revealed during these interviews
