Abstract: For companies in the competitive sector, the importance of performance is self-evident and quantifying results is a routine daily activity within controlling. The changing environment has completely transformed the aspects and possibilities of controlling. In the case of the V4 Member States, the complex market environment and in many cases similar starting point, the issues that arise and the human, economic and technological responses to them are similar in this region. With a similar history, it may be interesting to look at these issues in the direction of the V4 Member States, as the privatisations that started from a basically state-owned structure have created new but similar problems and challenges for the managers of both state-owned and newly created or privately owned companies.
