Abstract: Aspects of the personality development of a child with bronchial asthma Bronchial asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases of the respiratory system. In recent years, there has been a statistically significant increase in this disease in all age categories, i. e. even in children. Due to the prevalence of bronchial asthma, as well as its increasing incidence, it is not unusual that even in smaller children groups there are children with this disease. This disease interferes with their daily life, and therefore a whole range of therapeutic, nursing and educational interventions is necessary. It should be remembered that an asthma attack is a strong emotional, stressful and even traumatic experience for a child, if these attacks are repeated often. But it also applies to its family, which negatively affects their lives. In a child with bronchial asthma, there is an intermingling of somatopsychic and psychosomatic symptoms, which can mutually potentiate each other. This is precisely why the child, in its vulnerability and fragility, requires comprehensive care, attention, support, as well as positive role models. The teacher at every level of the school system must be educated and must constantly keep in mind that there are psychological and somatic factors that influence the state and performance of the student. The role of the teacher is irreplaceable in the development of the child´s personality, and of course this also applies to children with illnesses, e.g. with bronchial asthma, where his humane, empathetic and individual approach is essential.
