Abstract: Rural schools in Pusztapó Education history in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County can be traced back to the law of József Eötvös 1868:38. Most munipical schools were in the outskirts, in the interior we can find denominational elementery schools. In settlements where both Catholics and Reformed lived they provided for the maintenance of educational institutions together. On the outskirts, state elementary folk schools have been established, bacause the municipalities had an obligation to provide education for school-aged children, wich required state support. Regarding the education of out-of-school children subject to compulsory schooling, Kuno Klebelsberg’ educational reforms 1921:30 and 1926:7 brought about changes by creating districts. More and more children were obliged to attend school, this also reduced the number of illiterates. In my research, I would like to present a case study of farm education in Pusztapó which belongs to the outskirts of Mezőtúr.
