Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic and governmental restrictions have also influenced the mental and emotional well-being of university students, such as anxiety, anger, hopelessness, moodiness, irritation. The most influential source of stress is unknown future and uncertainty, major changes in life-style in comparison to prior to pandemic. During the pandemic, changes in the form and platform of university education have also put an extra burden on university students. Several measures have been introduced for the physical safety of the population, however, none for their mental well-being. The subject of our questionnaire-based research was the coping mechanisms of pre-school and primary school teacher training students who study in Hungarian in Subotica, Serbia.
