Abstract: Nowadays, environmental problems appear with increasing weight in a public consciousness, but in the behavior of people who influence their immediate environment, this awareness is by no means felt. Mankind continues to destroy the environment. This is attitude needs to change with an environmental education and sustainability pedagogy that includes representatives of the next generation, i.e., students. In this comparative research, we focus on sustainability-promoting thinking and behavior among university students. The attitude test method is a questionnaire survey based on a 15-item NEP (New Environmental Paradigm) based on a five-point Likert scale [23]. The NEP test uses five groups of statements. The Earth's resilience, its state of environmental equilibrium, the role of man in the biosphere, our transformed relationship with nature, and the role of ecological crisis perception are among the issues. 224 full-time teacher candidates from Selye Janos University in Slovakia (SJU) and 227 from Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary (ELTE) participated in the cross-sectional study in October 2019. In both institutions, a certain proportion of the interviewed students interpret the responsibility of humanity, for the state of the Earth, for the values of nature. In the future, the image will be completed and you can finally watch the transplant in order to articulate the chosen sensory factors as effectively as possible and perform behavior shaping.
