Abstract: The purpose of my study is to highlight the grievances suffered by the Reformed Hungarian community after Trianon. Dealing with the topic of teachers being adversely affected is of outmost importance. So far, work on this topic has not been published. Most of the officials, state employees and intellectuals were subject to similar treatment as Reformed Teachers. The Czechoslovak government aimed to deprive the Hungarian community living in Czechoslovakia of its intellectuals. This change would have greatly transformed the intellectual approach, and the already weakened group of citizens would have narrowed even more. I find it worthwhile to highlight in this study those individual struggles without which there would be no Hungarians in Slovakia today. I want to emphasize the important role of Reformed intellectuals, who were in touch with everyday people, in keeping our schools.
